OBSERVATION WHEEL DIGITAL INTEGRATION
In early 2019, the Exceed Creative team was contracted by the team at “The Great European Carnival” to undertake an extremely challenging project. To design, manufacture and install two (2) 9m diameter circular LED screen displays to be installed on either side of the Hong Kong Observation Wheel on Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong.The project came with numerous challenges including; adapting a structure design for the mounting of said LED hardware to the already existing Vekoma built Ferris Wheel, designing a structure in one of the most typhoon prone areas of Asia, and not to mention the fact the screen needed to be circular. Working with Structural Engineers in Australia, Hong Kong Government bodies and the project team at the site we were able to quickly have a solution and design in place to ensure the successful and safe delivery of the project. A detailed electrical distribution system was also designed to ensure the numerous LED panels that made up the circular display could be operated efficiently and safely with each panel being a bespoke shape and power requirement this distribution proved challenging but crucial in the management of safe power load distribution.Working with the Hong Kong Tourism Board and the team that operate the “Symphony of Light” Display on Victoria Harbour the Exceed Creative team designed the LED control to seamlessly synchronise with the “Symphony of Light” for daily integration and shows. This $2m project was delivered on time and in budget for our client and with an extremely positive result, the site Sponsor AIA was now able to gain the exposure from the site they had been looking for.
